ABOUT

Experience & Qualifications
My equestrian journey began in Germany, where I trained under the renowned Ralph and Katja Behrendt. I earned my Bereiter FN (Pferdewirt Schwerpunkt Reiten) qualification - a prestigious three-year German apprenticeship that combines intensive practical and theoretical study. In Germany, a Bereiter is a certified professional horse trainer and rider, recognised for their expertise in classical training, horsemanship, and the systematic development of both horses and riders. This qualification is rare in Australia and sets the foundation for everything I do.
When I relocated to Australia, I immersed myself in learning about the local equestrian community and its unique character. Over the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching riders, training horses, and working alongside some of Australia’s most passionate equestrians. With more than twenty years in the industry and seven years coaching a diverse range of riders and horses at all levels, I bring a blend of European tradition and Australian experience to every session.
I am currently in the process of formal accreditation with Pony Club Australia and Victoria, and I am committed to ongoing professional development - continually expanding my knowledge, refining my methods, and embracing new tools to deliver the highest standard of coaching and training.

My Philosophy & Coaching Style
At the heart of my approach is a simple but powerful principle: ride with purpose.
For me, riding with purpose means that every session, every exercise, and every interaction is intentional and goal-oriented - shaped by what you want to achieve, whether that’s competing, building confidence, enjoying relaxed trail rides, or deepening your partnership with your horse. My role is to help you clarify those goals and guide you toward them with focus and intent.Supporting this core philosophy are three pillars that define my coaching and training style:
- Technique: I am dedicated to building correct, effective riding skills. Expect clear explanations, honest feedback, and a focus on the details that matter - no shortcuts, and no wasted time.
- Confidence: Progress happens when you’re challenged and supported. I create an environment that encourages growth, sometimes with a supportive nudge, sometimes with a firm push - always tailored to what you truly need in order to move forward, based on my understanding of you as a rider.
- Connection: True progress comes from understanding both your horse and yourself. I help you develop the awareness and communication needed for a real partnership.
Every session is purposeful, personalised, and designed to help you and your horse make meaningful progress - whatever your goals may be.

My Mission with 'Marcel Loeb Equestrian'
My mission is to combine the depth of my experience and the principles of my philosophy with a genuine commitment to helping riders and horses who want to ride with purpose. I provide a premium, professional, and supportive coaching experience - rooted in European expertise and thoughtfully tailored for Australian equestrians. Fully insured and dedicated to ongoing education and innovation, I continually invest in new tools to make your experience as seamless and rewarding as possible, so you can focus on what truly matters: the time in the saddle and the journey you share with your horse.
Over the years, I’ve helped riders achieve a wide range of goals. I’ve guided adult riders to regain confidence after time away, supported young riders as they prepare for their first competitions, and worked with those whose greatest ambition is to enjoy relaxed, meaningful time on the trail. Each success story is different, but all are united by a shared commitment to riding with purpose - whether you’re seeking to ride for pleasure, build confidence, compete, or simply connect more deeply with your horse, my mission is to help you ride with purpose and enjoy the journey.
Beyond individual lessons, I am passionate about building a community of riders who are motivated to ride with purpose - supporting each other, celebrating progress, and raising the standard of horsemanship together. In every session, I strive to provide clear guidance, honest feedback, and a supportive environment where you and your horse can grow, learn, and achieve your ambitions.
Getting started is simple. Most clients just reach out and share a bit about themselves and what they’re looking for. If it feels like a good fit, I’ll invite you to complete a short rider application form. From there, we’ll organise your first session and begin your journey together.
